SAN ANDRES ISLAND

This island is a tourist paradise, located in the Colombian Caribbean, with 28 Kmts2  and a population of 70.000.  Its climate is steady throughout the year, with a temperature of  27ºC. Cool breezes are also a constant.  Spanish is the official language in San Andres, but native culture is anglo-caribbean, English is spoken and understood everywhere. 

Besides its beautiful culture, San Andres provides a wonderful scenery: Beaches (specially Sprat Bight), small keys, such as Johnny Cay, Haynes Cay and many others,  “The Blower Hole” (a water geyser) ,  Pirate Morgan’s Cave, Cove Bay, native people neighborhoods (San Luis, La Loma) and The Lake, among other attractions. 

San Andres is well connected by air to  the main Colombian cities in the continent and also to the main  Central American cities. Many airlines and tourism agents (local, national, international) are permanently established there. There is in San Andres a very efficient infrastructure of banking services, money exchange, tele-communications, hotels, restaurants,  day time attractions and nightly life.
